Lutheran Heritage Center & Museum
The Starzinger Family Research Library at Altenburg, Missouri is the home of the Zion Roots Research Project. It has a collection of resources which assist in researching family histories connected to Perry County, Missouri. Extensive use was made of the Salem Lutheran Church Records.
Perry County, Missouri Historical Society
The Missouri Historical Society includes: Archive Center, Research Library, Library/Archive Office, Doheny Room, Faherty House. Several visits were made to the Missouri Historical Society to obtain civil records and collected family histories.

Scheeßel Wiki
The Scheeßel Wiki was developed by Daniel Oetjen and has been utilized for history and descriptions of places in the Parish Scheeßel. (No longer available)
Ancestry.com
Ancestry.com® is an online family history resource home of historical records and family trees and much more. Ancestry.com includes a great collection of tools and resources for researching and building family trees.

Kirmse Family Tree
As stories and genealogical information is found are analyzed, the results are entered into the Kirmse Family Tree database on Ancestry.com – at times this is daily. To obtain the most recent family history results, consult the Kirmse Family Tree which is open for public view.
DIE MAUS (The Mouse)
Gesellschaft für Familienforschung e.V. Bremen (Family Research Bremen) has research resources such as copies of all Bremish parish registers until 1811, copies of several parish registers from the region, civil registers for the city of Bremen and the Bremen rural communities of 1811-1875, which records all births, marriages and deaths.
Extensive use was made of the Departures of Emigration Passages: A Project with the Bremen Chamber of Commerce and the Bremen Staatsarchiv.
Genealogy Database – OFB Sittensen
Wilhelm Kranz created an online database repository, Gen_Pluswin OFB (Ortsfamilienbuch) Sittensen of family history data for the Sittensen church parish that also includes data from the Scheeßel parish. Entered in the OFB Sittensen is baptism, birth, burial, death and marriage data from 45 years of research. It appears that Wilhelm Kranz started with the earliest church records available to him and followed the descendant family records forward in time. While the family data in the database have been found to be very reliable, it is not all inclusive as many of the children are not included.

The Chronik Kirchspiel Scheeßel is a compilation information about Scheeßel history and families. A copy is at the Lutheran Heritage Center & Museum in Altenburg, Missouri
