Maria Meÿer, the oldest daughter of Peter and Anna (Gerken) Meÿer, emigrated from Germany before the rest of her family.  Fred Eggers noted that Maria Meÿer arrived in New Orleans on board the Bremen ship Carl along the first group of immigrants to Perry County, Missouri from Scheeßel, Germany.

Discussion

Passenger No, 23 at the bottom of page 1 is Johann Miesner who from the passenger manifest has been in the USA before and is returning from a trip to Germany. Maria Meÿer married Johann Miesner two months after arriving in New Orlean on 20 Dec 1866 in Altenburg, Perry, Missouri. So by the time Maria’s parents, Anna (Gerken) and Peter Meÿer, arrived in New Orleans on 7 Oct 1869, Maria had been in Missouri three years and was married almost the same amount of time.

Passenger No. 24 at the top of the second page is Claus Miesner, the half brother of Johann Miesner. Passenger No. 25 is Anna Meier. Claus Miesner married a Maria Meier on 12 Jan 1871 at Farrar, Perry, Missouri. Could this Anna be the same Maria that Claus married 4 years after arriving in Missouri?
